Article 51A (H) of the Constitution of India expects citizens to develop a scientific temper, humanism, and the spirit of inquiry and reform.
But look at our irony—
We have put science in our mobile phones and superstition in our minds.
We send rockets to the Moon, yet sometimes we look for a miraculous touch to cure our illnesses.
And this is exactly where a clever person can turn our fear, helplessness, and hope into his own power.
Grow your hair, let your beard become unkempt, wear saffron, create an unusual dress code, put a few malas around your neck, hold some supposedly miraculous object in your hand—
and suddenly, that man becomes a “Baba.”
Then crowds gather at his feet.
Someone is asking for a blessing to have a child.
Someone has come to be cured of an illness.
Someone is seeking a job.
Someone wants wealth.
And someone wants to know the future.
A man whose words nobody was willing to listen to yesterday is suddenly treated as if even his whisper were an order from God.
Why?
Because we seem to prefer miracles over truth and knowledge.
We want ready-made answers more than questions.
“Baba will do it.”
That is our real illness.
We have reduced spirituality to a cheap escape and a quick-fix solution.
Who wants to read the Bhagavad Gita?
Who wants to understand the Upanishads?
Who wants to go through the difficult process of self-inquiry and introspection?
If someone simply offers an easy remedy—
we believe it!
But genuine spirituality is not superstition.
True spirituality is the highest evolution of human life.
It is a journey of liberating oneself from within.
The hypocrisy that is being sold to society in the name of spirituality is not spirituality at all—
it is a deep social wound, a cancer eating away at society.
The country cannot truly progress as long as—
appearance sells more than thought and wisdom,
miracles sell more than reason,
and “Babas” sell more than truth.
Such a society may appear modern from the outside, but within, it remains frightened and mentally enslaved.
And—
a society with a slave mentality can never build a great nation.
Therefore, we must first liberate the human being.
We must liberate him from fear.
Liberate his mind.
Liberate his thinking.
Give him the courage to question.
Because the day human beings learn to live not by fear, but by reason and discernment,
that will be the day they become truly free.
And perhaps, on that day—
India will not merely become developed,
it will become truly awakened and great.
